Showers & Parties
Go for a Swirl!
Looking for bridal shower or bachelorette party idea? I recently hosted an "all about wine" cocktail party for a fun group of wedding bloggers (they met up in Brooklyn to trade ideas and share stories. Check out the list of blogs here to be filled with daily inspiration for your wedding) with Swirl Events.Swirl can set up in your home or in another location. Plus, they come with everything that's needed — glasses, 5-6 kinds of wine, cheeses, and that bucket to dispose of extra wine after you've finished sipping! First, Swirl's Anu Karwa took as through a little Wine 101 cheat sheet, then we went to work tasting and comparing. She distributed some super cute note cards to fill out where we had to match a wine with the celebrity who best embodied it — for me, the D. Chandon Unoaked Chardonnay, 2007, Monterey, CA felt very "Catherine Zeta-Jones — goes well with an aged cheese." You disagree? Maybe, but it's a great way to learn about wine and have a good time doing it. Read more about Swirl Events.—Michelle Preli
