Jennifer Garner walks down the aisle

Courtesy of New Line Cinema
Last week I got a chance to chat with Denise Wingate, the costume designer for the new movie Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. She told me all about putting together the bridal fashions for the movie, which centers on a celebrity photographer (Matthew McConaughey) who runs into his ex-girlfriend (Jennifer Garner) at his brother's wedding. You'll have to wait until the movie opens this Friday to learn if Jennifer Garner's character ends up getting married, but I can tell you all about her wedding dress. To create just the right bridal look for Jennifer, the costume designer helped the star try on dozens of dresses brought in from a nearby bridal boutique, a process that made Jennifer feel like a real bride. "It was nothing like the dress that she wore when she got married in real life so it was like getting married all over again for her," Wingate said.
