Want MB to publish your wedding?

Today I am taking a little time out from producing upcoming photo shoots to look at some of the submissions for our "Real Weddings" section. This is one of the most fun parts of my job, although it can be a little overwhelming due to the number of submissions we receive on a daily basis.
Of course, since I am the Photo Editor, the photographs always grab my attention first, but I also make sure to take the time to read the explanations that the brides and grooms (or wedding planners or photographers) submit with the images.
I am always surprised and inspired by the extra little touches brides and grooms put into their wedding day to symbolize their favorite things, places where they met, their courtship, family members or friends who are not able to attend, etc. It is also nice to hear from the wedding vendors about how much fun they had working with the couple and getting to know them in the time leading up to the big day. For some vendors, they have such a strong bond that they feel like part of the family by the actual day!
Needless to say, I think one of the most important people on your wedding team should be your photographer. If you have a great connection, style-wise and personality-wise, and feel comfortable around him/her I think you get a real sense of that in the photos. And when the party is over and the guests have gone home you have this great record of the evenings events that you will have forever, there may be moments captured that you didn't realize took place!
If you would like to share the story and photos of your wedding day with me and the other editors at Modern Bride, submit your real wedding. I look forward to hearing from you! —Holly Watson, Photo Editor, Modern Bride
