Runway Review
Angel Sanchez
New York— The ten gowns Angel Sanchez showed us this morning in his showroom were rich in details you have to touch (we did!) as well as see. These are very thoughtful wedding dresses!
Mr. Sanchez claims he doesn't usually do too many flowers, but I remember some wonderful flower details from the last collection. This season, he tells us, he went with the flowers much more, but they are woven throughout the collection in unexpected and beautiful ways. Some had crystals inside them. Others ran along a one shoulder gown in organza. The ivory tulle gown shown here has exquisite hand painted tulle flower embroidery. To me, it looked like spun sugar kissing the dress. And each of his gowns has that very same feeling whether its focus is flowers or ribbons or pleats. —Michelle Preli
