Esprit is back!

Courtesy of Esprit
Back in the day, I used to beg my mom to drive me to the Esprit Outlet in San Francisco for some back-to-school shopping—it was always the biggest treat, ever. In the late '90s, however, the outlet closed down and the company slipped off the retail scene radar. But now, Esprit is back! A brand-new retail store is opening today on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and to mark the occasion, Esprit is launching a nationwide contest to find the best "how we met" story—a nod to Susie and Doug Tompkins, the husband-and-wife founders of Esprit who happened to cross paths while traveling. Couples can log on to Esprit's web site to upload a photograph and tell their own story. People can vote for their favorites on the site and the winners (chosen at the end of April) will score a trip to Paris, Barcelona, or Berlin. And be sure to stop by the new Santa Monica store—their new spring line has a ton of options if you're looking for a dress for your bridal shower or rehearsal dinner. —Heather Lee, Editor, Brides Southern California
