What are you doing to cut wedding costs?
The economy has been topping news headlines for months, and with wedding season around the corner more and more couples are looking for ways to cut their wedding budget. There are a number ways for you to save money on your wedding from cutting your guest list to having a casual menu instead of a formal sit-down dinner.

We are negotiating more with our vendors. Everyone right now is in the same boat, and people are willing to be very flexible with their prices. Do your homework, talk to several people, and don't be afraid to ask your vendors to tell you how they can lower prices.

Besides keeping it small, there are a number of things we're doing ourselves. Also, it's a dry wedding so there are no bar or barkeep costs. Everyone is paying for themselves - aka, bridesmaids are paying for dresses, best man is paying for tux, guests are paying for airfare and hotels, etc.
Also, we've found amazing deals. My wedding dress was under $300, and it's fabulous. My veil was under $40. His tux is under $70. The cake is about $110. Flowers are under $400. I mean, we're finding all the ways to cut costs we can since we're college students.

We're having our ceremony and reception on the Gateway Clipper in Pittsburgh, and they are taking care of everything! One bill, no fuss. Also, find younger vendors. We're getting an amazing photography package for under $1000 because she is a grad student, and our DJ for under $500 from a local company, and less than $400 for flowers because we're doing doing beta fish for centerpieces! Just shop around and be creative! College student's dream.
