Attack of the 49 foot bride!

Courtesy of Paramount
If you need a break from wedding planning this weekend, consider taking your flower girl to see the new 3-D animated movie Monsters vs. Aliens. The movie begins with an out-of-the-ordinary wedding in which bride Susan (voiced by Reese Witherspoon) is about to marry her groom (voiced by Paul Rudd, who seems to be saying "I do" a lot lately—he also played a groom in I Love You, Man) when she's hit by a falling meteor that transforms her into a giant monster. From what we've seen so far, the 3-D effects are amazing and the story looks delightfully silly. Best of all, watching the bride expend to 49 feet, 11 inches will definitely put your wedding worries into perspective. —Kathryn Papanek
