Skincare tips for the big day

Courtesy of REN
Want to know the secret to beautiful wedding pictures? Picture perfect skin. It's very important to start a skincare regimen soon after you're engaged to ensure that your face is flawless on your big day. You can meet with a dermatologist if you have serious skin issues or schedule a series of facial and skin treatments at your local spa. But you can also get a number of products - moisturizers, creams and rinses - that you can use at home.
To find out how you should take care of your skin, we spoke with Robert Calcraft, Founder of REN. The complete REN skincare line is free from skin-unfriendly synthetic ingredients and each of their products boosts the skin's natural ability to protect, repair and renew itself leaving skin beautifully healthy and radiant. Exactly what you want for your wedding. Here are Robert's skincare tips: —Anne Chertoff
To maintain beautiful healthy skin until the big day, it's important to use gentle products that are free from unfriendly ingredients that will effectively retain moisture and keep the skin calmed. In addition, try to avoid extreme changes of temperature, exfoliate regularly, eat healthily, keep fit and avoid stress
Avoid anything harsh or abrasive, especially...
harsh cleansing and exfoliating products such as: products containing sulfates or harsh exfoliators. Test anything new on the inside of the elbow and reject anything that causes any redness or irritation.
To determine what type of skin you have, observe the appearance of your skin throughout the day:
- Oily skin/combination: You normally have an excess of sebum on the skin surface, particularly on the T-zone. You may have some breakouts. Gentle exfoliation is the key to preventing blackheads and spots.
- Dry skin: Your skin feels uncomfortable particularly after cleansing. The skin surface feels rough and your complexion is dull. Your skin lacks oil.
- Normal: No particular issues. Skin is naturally balanced. Use products that maintain the skin's natural beauty and radiance.
