LaDonna and Darnell tie the knot
Today I had a front row view as the Today show's winning couple, LaDonna Bradford and Darnell Suggs, tied the knot in Rockefeller Plaza. My day began behind-the-scenes with Darnell who, dressed in a navy wool suit by Brooks Brothers, was preparing for the early morning nuptials. "I woke up at three in the morning to start getting ready," Darnell told me. The groom was a little nervous leading up to the ceremony, but his father's encouragement was reassuring. "There's nothing wrong with being nervous. There hasn't been a groom who hasn't been nervous," said Darnell's father...
One thing Darnell wasn't worried about? Letting America choose the details of his wedding. "All of the choices were so great," he said of the bridesmaid dresses, wedding rings and tuxedos that Today show viewers selected in the days leading up to the ceremony. "I knew that I would be happy with whatever the voters picked."
Darnell's faith in the Today show's fans was definitely justified. Rockefeller Plaza was transformed into a beautiful Asian inspired garden for the couple's East Meets West-themed ceremony. I loved how the white-and-pink paper lanterns moved in the breeze, and the 1,001 red origami cranes added bursts of vibrant color to the garden. LaDonna stole the show in a stunning silk strapless dress by Priscilla of Boston as she was escorted down the aisle by her grandfather. Nervousness aside, Darnell recited his wedding vows perfectly, declaring "I would go to the ends of the earth just to see you smile." But it was perhaps LaDonna who summed up the romantic theme of the ceremony best, saying, "I will love you with every beat of my heart for as long as we both shall live." —Kathryn Papanek

what a lovely couple.
That was so sweet. That might be my favorite of the Today Show weddings.
