Award-Winning Hair

We tell you how to create your own show-stopping 'do inspired by the looks of the 2008 Emmys

Lauren Conrad

The Look: Bohemian updo. Lauren loves this look and looks great in it. The style is forever young, fresh and hip without being too "hippie"—perfect for a wedding at the beach or a stroll down the red carpet.

Best for: Short, medium or long hair.

Try: Part hair in center. Add one or two loose braids on either side of part. Can use small rubber bands to hold braids at ends. Use medium or large barrel curling irons to bend hair in a subtle flip toward the back. Finger comb strands around face; finger comb other pieces (with exception of braids) loosely toward back. Use hairspray to create fullness by spraying, lifting, and holding in place for a few moments. Swoop each braid back, tuck end under hair, and pin near rubber band. For longer hair, pin loose ends beneath in back. (The messier the better.) For shorter hair, use iron to curl ends in back in various directions. Separate with fingers for fullness and strut.
